How do I choose my options?
In the spring term of year’s 9 and 10 you’ll start choosing the options for your study when you reach the ages of 14 through to 16.
You may have a job / career in mind, or want to go onto further study at 16. Either way, all the options allow you to achieve the qualifications that you’ll need to move on!
As well as the core subjects that everyone is required to take; GCSE / Entry Level Certificates in Maths, Science; English and Welsh, you can choose between 3-6 other subjects.

Have a job / career in mind and want to try it out?
Why not look at the work related options available such as engineering and construction, hairdressing and beauty therapy, hospitality and catering, retail and travel and tourism.
Not sure what career area you like and want a taste of different areas?
Options such engineering give you a taste of up to six different areas including car mechanics, plumbing and electronics, to help you decide.
Want to take GCSEs as a route onto A Levels?
There are many choices of GCSE subjects and you may be able to take a subject like law and geology at another school or college in Wrexham alongside your school studies.
