Learner Profile: Brickwork Apprenticeship
The Brickwork Apprenticeship provides the opportunity to gain academic and practical skills associated with the construction industry in a mix of class lectures and workshop sessions in the bricklaying workshop at Yale College Bersham Road Campus.
Units include: workplace safety; moving and handling, masonry structures; drainage; specialist concrete.

This course is aimed at providing learners with the relevant knowledge and skills to enable them to obtain employment in an administrative capacity. This one year course is offered on a full-time basis.

Learner Profile: BTEC First Diploma in Applied Science
A BTEC First Diploma is a practical, work-related course equivalent to four GCSEs grades A*– C and is normally taken as a full-time course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. It introduces you to the employment area you have chosen and provides a good basis to go on to a more advanced work-related qualification.

The Prince’s Trust Team Programme is a voluntary course which is open to unemployed people aged 16-25. All they need is a desire to change their prospects and a commitment to complete the challenging 12 week course.

Learner Profile: Professional Cookery
All students will benefit from the realistic working environment in our production kitchen, public restaurant and bar, where hours and staffing reflect what it is like in the industry. All students will gain further experience from our close links with industry. The attendance is flexible full or part-time over 5 days per week.

This is a one year full-time entry level 2 course which runs over four days a week. It is aimed at students who want to have a 'taster' of several different vocational areas, develop work experience skills, and build on existing basic skills.

Learner Profile: BTEC National Diploma in Sport and Exercise
This is a full-time 2-year course for students wanting to progress into sports related careers or into Higher Education. Prospective students must be aware that this is a science-based course and as such contains many scientific modules of study related to the area of sport.

Learner Profile: BTEC National Diploma in Production Arts
A BTEC National Diploma is a practical, work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. The Production course offers our students three different routes from which to choose, they are Technical, Stage Design and Production. The course is equivalent to three A levels which means when you have finished the course you can choose whether to get a job straight away or go into higher education first.

This is a one-year full-time course specifically intended to prepare students for entry to Higher Education and future employment within the discipline of Art & Design. For those who are thinking seriously about becoming a professional artist, craftsman or designer and would like to work and study alongside others who are as keen and talented as themselves, then they should consider applying for the Foundation Course. Students will find the course to be a uniquely enjoyable and stimulating experience. They will be taking the first step in their training as a professional with opportunities to explore a wide range of specialist art and design subjects. The standards of work achieved are high and will prepare students for the highly competitive demands of Degree level education.
